Scholz Farms “Pumpkin Palace” – Pierce County Pumpkin Patch with lots of FREE family fun! You’ve got to get a pumpkin patch picture – an annual tradition of course! Welcome to Thrifty NW Mom!Spooner Farms - 2. Photos & 2. 3 Reviews - Farmers Market - 9. State Route 1. 62 E, Puyallup, WA - Phone Number. This place is great! I've never been to a pumpkin patch before so I decided to make this a cute little date for the girlfriend and I. Spooner Farms, Puyallup: See 12 reviews, articles, and photos of Spooner Farms, ranked No.3 on TripAdvisor among 7 attractions in Puyallup. Getting there is simple enough. Although it was very nasty weather when we went, the rain and mud made our trip a little more exciting. Don't be afraid to get dirty! We went on Sunday, shortly after they opened and the place was fairly quiet. Parking was a breeze although the parking lot itself was extremely muddy (employees started to shovel out the pools of standing water by the time we left, so that's a plus).
The farm gets very busy closer to noon. There is lots to do here, especially if you have a family with kids. There's a slingshot activity where you catapult small little pumpkins across a field at little targets. There are two areas to see farm animals. One is a small barn filled with cute bunnies, piglets, chickens and turkeys. The other is an outside pen with some goats and a lonely donkey. Nothing much but I bet kids would love it. Of course there's the corn maze but we didn't have time to get lost in that. There's also a maze made of ropes for the younger kids. Lots of photo opportunities scattered about the place so bring your camera to capture those memories with the kids and family. There are concession stands where you can buy cheap eats like burgers, hot dogs, roasted corn (yum!) and caramel apples. Prices aren't bad either. The gift shop is stocked with .. From Halloween decor, wine, honey, candles, soap bars, and confectioneries. I bought a jar of horseradish aioli which was a bit pricey but it's so good! Probably the reason why many go here is for the pumpkin patch. The pumpkins are neatly laid out in rows and you just wheel your wheelbarrow up to them and make your picks. It's very fun to walk the aisles to find the perfect pumpkin. We left with 3 medium- large sized pumpkins perfect for carving. A worker weighs them for you and you pay inside the gift shop. Very simple process for a first- timer like me. Not to mention there are lots of varieties of smaller pumpkins and squashes near the field in bins to choose from. All in all, a great and wonderful experience. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing (a given) and bring a camera!
